  • Prof. Dr. Wang Hong

    Dr. Wang Hong received her Ph.D. in Business Administration from Shanghai Jiao Tong University and pursued post-doctoral studies in Applied Economics at Fudan University. She is a recipient of the Special Government Allowance of the State Council and has been awarded numerous honours, including Shanghai Leading Talent and Shanghai Excellent Academic Leader. She has served as President of CEIBS and Professor of Management at CEIBS since September 2020, Hengdian Group Chair Professor in Management since March 2021 and Co-Director of CEIBS Research Centre for International Cruise Economy since April 2024.

    From 2013 to 2020, Dr. Wang served as Party Secretary of Baoshan District People’s Government in Shanghai. From 2011 to 2012, she held positions as the Deputy Party Secretary & Chief Executive of the Baoshan District People’s Government. Prior to her career as a government official, she served first as Vice President and then as President of Shanghai University of Engineering Science from 1996 to 2012, during which time she served as Vice Chairman of the Shanghai Workers’ Union. During this period, she also served as an adjunct professor and supervisor for Ph.D. students at Fudan University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics and Shanghai University. Dr. Wang served as a representative during the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and a member of the 10th, 11th, 12th, 14th, 15th and 16th Shanghai Municipal People’s Congresses. She has also received funding as part of the Ministry of Education’s New Century Excellent Talents Programme and Dawn Plan.

    Dr. Wang has served as Deputy Director of the Supervision Committee for the Teaching of Business Administration in Higher Education Institutions at the Ministry of Education for many years, and has accumulated a lot of experience in the field of management education. She has also served as Deputy Director of the Supervision Committee for the Teaching of Management Science and Engineering in Higher Education Institutions at the Ministry of Education, Chairman of Board of Directors of the Shanghai Society of Management Science and Director of the Shanghai International Cruise Business Institute and has acted as a key member of the China Ageing Finance Forums. In addition, Dr. Wang has served as Deputy or Executive Director or Vice President of numerous other organisations, including the China Higher Education Quality Control and Assessment Committee, China Industry-University-Research Association, China Convention Economy Research Association, Shanghai Systematic Engineering Academic Committee, Shanghai Management Science Association, Shanghai Entrepreneur Association and Shanghai Industrial Management Association.

    Dr. Wang has earned a strong reputation for excellence in teaching, research and management. Her work includes 10 major research projects funded by the National Social Science Fund of China, the Ministry of Education Programme for Philosophy and Social Science, as well as the National Development Programme for Soft Science. She has chaired over 50 research projects funded by the MoE and various ministries and provincial governments and has published over 100 papers and books, including 20 award-winning books exploring frontier research in business management. Her research has garnered her dozens of awards, such as second prize for the National Teaching Award, the grand prize of the Municipal Teaching Award, first prize for the Shanghai Educational Scientific Research Achievements, the Shanghai Municipal Government Decision-Making Consultation Award, and the Excellence Award for Major Research in Philosophy and Social Science. In addition, Dr. Wang received the Major Contribution Award for Cruise Industry Development issued by Seatrade during its 31st London Award Ceremony for her outstanding contributions in promoting and developing the cruise economy in China. To date, Dr. Wang is the only recipient of the honour from the Asia-Pacific region. In August 2022, President Wang Hong was conferred the Special Achievement Award of the 7th Asia Cruise Awards by the Asia Cruise Leaders Network (ACLN).

    During her tenure in Baoshan District, Dr. Wang devoted considerable effort to repositioning and restructuring the local economy from a global perspective, converting old piers, warehouses and plants into 68 industrial parks and 48 museums and galleries. As a result, Baoshan has taken on a new look and has attracted large-scale investment from major industries, including the cruise industry, robotics and smart manufacturing, new materials, construction technology and platform economy, as well as artificial intelligence, general health, bio-medicine, culture and creativity, energy conservation and modern logistics.

    Prof. Frank Bournois is Co-President (European), and Michelin Chair in Governance and Leadership at China Europe International Business School (CEIBS). He joined CEIBS in April 2023 and served as Vice President and Dean until December 2025. Beginning in 2014, Prof. Bournois served as Executive President and Dean of ESCP Business School, the oldest and one of the most international business schools in the world with campuses in Berlin (Germany), London (UK), Madrid (Spain), Paris (France), Turin (Italy) and Warsaw (Poland). He was a full Professor of General Management and Cross-Cultural Leadership at Paris Panthéon-Assas University from 1997 to 2014, and he has supervised more than 70 doctoral students. He also served as Chairman of the National Committee for the Evaluation and Accreditation of Business Schools at the Ministries of Industry and Higher Education from 2009 to 2013. The Fellows of the Academy of International Business (AIB) elected him as the 2024 AIB International Educator of the Year.

    Prof. Frank Bournois is a FRSA-Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (UK), and holds a Ph.D. in Business Strategy from the University of Lyon (France), an MBA from Aston University (UK), a Master in Management from EM Lyon (France) and DSc from City University of London (UK).

    Prof. Bournois specialises in corporate governance and the study of how large European firms identify, manage and develop their future leaders. He has provided consulting services for companies such as Airbus, Bouygues, EDF, L’Oréal and Safran. Since 2019, he has served as a Member of the Global Supervisory Board of Forvis Mazars, a leading audit and advisory firm where he is chairing the Remuneration and Nomination Committees.

    Prof. Bournois is the author or co-author of 20 books, including The Handbook of Top Management Teams (Palgrave, 2010). He is an Officer in the Legion of Honour and a Commander in the Order of Merit (France), and has been awarded the Gold Medal for Education (Lebanon).

  • Prof Dr Dominique Turpin

    Dr. Dominique V. Turpin is President Emeritus and Professor of Marketing at CEIBS. He joined CEIBS in September 2022 and served as President (European) until December 2025. Prof. Turpin is a marketing expert and Japan specialist. He was IMD's Dentsu Chaired Professor of Marketing and the Dean of External Relations until 2022 and served as IMD President, Dean and Nestlé Professor from 2010 to 2016. Before joining IMD in 1986, he spent several years in Tokyo as a representative of a French firm in Japan. He earned a doctorate in economics from Sophia University in Tokyo, after receiving a master's degree in marketing from French business school ESSCA. 

    For his outstanding accomplishments in executive education, Prof. Turpin was awarded life-long membership of the International Academy of Management. Prof. Turpin is a board member of EFMD. He is also on the International Advisory Board of prestigious institutions such as the Stockholm School of Economics (SSE), Waseda Business School (Japan) and others. He has been a member of CEIBS Academic Council since the very beginning.
     
    Prof. Turpin has extensive teaching, consulting, and research experience in the fields of marketing and international strategy in Europe, Latin America, and Asia, particularly in the areas of brand management, customer orientation, and communications strategy. 

    He remains active in the writing of case studies, and is working on two books-one with Goutam Challagalla on digital transformation in marketing, and another containing the many quotations from business leaders that he has gathered over his long career.

    Prof. Turpin taught on IMD's flagship Orchestrating Winning Performance (OWP) program and was previously Director of the school's MBA program and its Program for Executive Development Diploma (PED). He has also directed customized programs for companies such as KAO, Mondelez, Groupe SEB, Panasonic and Japan Tobacco International, and he has worked as a consultant and management educator with a large number of international companies including Coca Cola, CPW, Danone, DSM, Jardine Matheson, Nestlé, Novo Nordisk, Philips and Uponor.
     
    Prof. Turpin is the author of more than 100 books, articles and case studies. He has had articles published in the Financial Times, European Business Forum, and MIT Sloan Management Review, and has been a regular contributor to the Nihon Sangyo Shimbun, one of the leading business dailies in Japan. He is an editorial advisor for the Singapore Management Review.
     
    Prof. Turpin’s case studies have won several awards. His cases on Toyota and Kineer were recognized in the 2022 John Molson MBA International Case Writing Competition awards, and his case Sam100: Will construction robotics disrupt the US bricklaying industry? won an EFMD Case Writing Competition Award in 2020. He was also included on The Case Centre's list of the top 40 best-selling case authors both in 2015/16 and 2018/19. Prof. Turpin is Chairman of DAA Capital Partners, a Geneva-based private equity firm investing in impactful trends, and serves on the boards of several listed and unlisted companies and educational institutions.

    Professor Xin, a native of the Chinese mainland, has extensive teaching, research and consulting experience in universities and multinational companies around the world.

    Katherine Xin is Professor of Organizational Behaviour, Bayer Chair in Leadership, Associate Dean (Europe), Director of HEMBA, DBA and CCEMBA Program at China Europe International Business School (CEIBS). She holds her Ph.D. from the University of California and was previously on the faculty of the University of Southern California, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and IMD, Lausanne, Switzerland.

    Professor Xin specializes in the areas of leadership, organizational culture, organizational transformation, and strategic human resource management.  She is currently focusing on research in high performance leadership and key success factors of organizational transformation in the digital era. Professor Xin is a frequent contributor to academic journals and executive conferences. Her research work has appeared in the leading international management journals such as the Academy of Management Journal, Administrative Science Quarterly, Organization Science, Strategic Management Journal, Organization Studies, Journal of Management, Journal of World Business, Leadership Quarterly, and other publications. Her books Made in China - Secrets of China’s Dynamic Entrepreneurs (2009), Five Types of Effective Leaders (2011), Five-Star Model of Talent Development (2014), Global Expansion- the Chinese Way (2018), Management in Digital Era: Managing Companies in a Platform Way (2019), Becoming Excellent Change Leaders (2024) and Organizational Behavior for Effective Executives (2025) received broad attention from executives globally.

    In addition to her research and teaching, she is a consultant and workshop leader, and has undertaken assignments for multinational firms such as Alcatel, Alibaba, Allianz, Baosteel, BASF, Baxter, BMW, Bosch, CATL, China Mobile, China Steel, China Telecom, Daimler Benz, Ford Motor Company, Fluor Daniel, Interbrew, Inventec, Johnson & Johnson, Merck, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Qualcomm, San Miguel, Sony, Toyota, TSMC and government agencies in the US, HK and the Chinese mainland. She also worked as the marketing director at a high temperature rubber manufacturing company in California and participated in founding 3 companies.

    Robert joined CEIBS in May 2019 as CEO of CEIBS Zurich.

    He holds a B.A. in English Literature, Religion and Philosophy from the University of Richmond in Richmond, Virginia,  and an MBA in Finance and International Busines  from George Washington University in Washington, D.C., and a PhD in International Economics from the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland.

    Robert’s professional experience spans over 35 years in education, banking, and consulting.  He is a regular speaker and moderator.

    Robert took his first trip to China in 1988 and has been a friend and follower of China ever since.  Originally from the US, he has lived and worked in Europe since 1988. Robert has dual citizenship in the US and Switzerland. He has worked in the US, the UK, Germany, Nato-Europe, Switzerland and Vietnam. He has travelled to 70 countries for work and pleasure.

    Robert loves spending time with his large family. Having four daughters and currently 5 grandchildren keeps him busy. When he is not spending time with his family, he is in the mountains hiking or skiing. He is an avid golf player
