News and Events Highlights 2024
December 18, 2024. Shanghai – As we celebrated the school’s 30th anniversary, 2024 marked a year filled with impactful moments, groundbreaking events, and inspiring milestones for CEIBS that underscore its commitment to academic excellence, responsible leadership, and global business impact. Read on to dive into the highlights that defined the past 12 months as we look ahead to an even brighter 2025!
At the beginning of this year, CEIBS faculty shared bold and insightful predictions for the global economy in 2024, offering valuable perspectives on emerging trends and challenges.
In February, the CEIBS MBA programme once again claimed the #1 spot in Asia (and #21 in the world) in the Financial Times’ global ranking, marking the eighth consecutive year that it had come out on top in the region.
Later in March, a historic high of 17 CEIBS faculty made the 2023 list of Highly-Cited Chinese Researchers released by world-leading academic publisher Elsevier, demonstrating CEIBS’ impact on global academic research.
In April, CEIBS welcomed two distinguished CEOs for Executive Forums on our Shanghai campus, offering valuable insights on how multinationals can balance engagement and de-risking as they adapt their strategies to a changing China, and navigate disruptions and move towards a greener future.
May saw the offline return of CEIBS’ signature Innovation Forum in Hong Kong, emphasising the crucial role of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors and economic integration in driving the development of China’s Greater Bay Area.
In early June, the CEIBS 10th Europe Forum 2024 took place in Paris to explore the future of China-France relations, with distinguished speakers from both countries gathering to share their valuable insights into how French and Chinese enterprises can harness innovation to thrive in an uncertain era.
In July, CEIBS received official re-accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), highlighting the school’s ongoing commitment to maintaining the highest standards of excellence in management education and reaffirming its status as one of the world's leading business schools.
That same month, CEIBS Vice President and Dean Frank Bournois was named International Educator of the Year 2024 by the Academy of International Business (AIB) at the annual AIB Conference in Seoul. During the conference CEIBS Lecturer of Management Nana Yaa A. Gyamfi was also awarded, receiving the WAIB (Women in the Academy of International Business) Emerging Scholar Award in recognition of her outstanding contributions to research and education.
In October, CEIBS was thrilled to announce that our Global EMBA (GEMBA) programme had been named #1 in the world in the Financial Times 2024 EMBA Ranking, marking its first ever appearance at the top of the authoritative list.
In a year of complex global challenges, CEIBS reaffirmed its commitment to cultivating responsible China-EU business leaders at the 10th Europe Forum 2024 at dual venues in Brussels and Shanghai. Featuring a stellar array of Chinese and international dignitaries, the exciting event was a prelude ahead of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of EU-China diplomatic relations in 2025.
Finally, in November, we formally celebrated the 30th anniversary of our founding with a grand celebration, followed by the “China and the World” Forum featuring a rich array of distinguished speakers from throughout CEIBS history. The day concluded with a CEIBS 30th Anniversary Celebration Concert.
