Prof. Emily David Makes Poets & Quants’ List of 2019 Best 40 Under 40 Professors
April 25, 2019. Shanghai — CEIBS Assistant Professor of Management Emily David has been named one of the world’s best young business school professors by Poets & Quants, a leading resource for in-depth information on global business schools and the MBA journey. The list of Best 40 Under 40 Professors, released on April 22, is based on teaching and research skills.
Faculty must be nominated by their schools to be considered. Very popular with students and her peers alike, 34-year-old Prof. David received glowing recommendations to be included on the list. Her sense of humour, genuine love for her job and students are all evident in the frank replies she gave as part of the submission process (read the full piece here).
Prof. David joined CEIBS in 2016 and currently teaches Organizational Behaviour, Leadership Journey, and Leadership: Developing High Performing Teams and Organizations. Her current research primarily focuses on discovering how to make workplaces more welcoming for people of all backgrounds and personality profiles in order to achieve better person-organization fit, maximize performance, and avoid employee burnout. She is also a fierce advocate of female leadership, and was instrumental in the MBA-student-led 2019 CEIBS Female Leadership Forum hosted at the school's Shanghai campus on March 9.
This is the seventh year that P&Q has compiled its list of what it describes as “the world’s best young business school professors in terms of research prowess, teaching chops, and impact they have on current students, former students, colleagues, business education research, and society and the world in general”. In 2017, CEIBS Assistant Professor of Marketing Hyun Young Park and Assistant Professor of Management Sebastian Schuh made the list.
