First Ever For-credit Technology Entrepreneurship Camp Wraps up at CEIBS
November 12, 2019. Shanghai – CEIBS MBA 2021 students recently completed their first journey into entrepreneurship as part of the Technology Entrepreneurship Camp. The camp – the first ever for-credit entrepreneurship course at CEIBS – was conducted by CEIBS eLab Director and Adjunct Professor of Entrepreneurship Vincent Chang together with a host of other faculty member and successful entrepreneurs.
Unlike in previous years, this year’s camp was a structured as a for-credit course with a set schedule spanning two terms, including requirements for individual assignments and group work.
During the course, the students had a chance to study many of the useful frameworks and influential theories in entrepreneurship – such as Blue Ocean Strategy and Business Plan Canvas – and to apply these theories to real-world cases. Students also had the chance to learn from many successful entrepreneurs, many of whom are CEIBS alumni, including the founders of Orange Dental and River Security.
Learnings from the camp culminated in a final project, where students worked in groups of 5 to get hands-on experience developing detailed business plans for their innovative ventures. As part of their final grade, these business plans will be evaluated by a panel of judges on the basis of creativity, executability and presentation.
Many of the students marvelled at the chance to talk with real entrepreneurs and take their first steps towards becoming successful entrepreneurs. In the coming months, some of the students will also progress to the next stage of their entrepreneurship journey as part of the CEIBS eLab’s Technology Acceleration Programme.
